So for my friend Whitney’s birthday party a bunch of us went ice skating. This was my third time; I first went when I was maybe 6 or so, then a few years ago Sarah and I went skating on our honeymoon. Needless to say I am not very good, but I at least didn’t fall down! That was a surprise. I, who sometimes have trouble rounding a corner on foot. The poor Mandy’s however did not fare so well, their bruised bodies living testimonies to reckless abandon of all speeds safe and prudent. My only goal for next time is to learn how to hockey stop. Ok that and a triple salchow lutz twist spin flip jump.

In completely unrelated news, we have a new official drummer :)

So this is a bit late, but I wanted to post a link to a tribute someone made to our RK flash Christmas episode. This girl did a remake of the entire thing on a freaking Magna Doodle and threw in some stuff of her own. It must have taken forever. Kudos!

Kind of a random post today, but for some reason I’ve had a C.S. Lewis quote on my mind since seeing it on one of my dad’s newsletters. It’s from Mere Christianity:

Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on: you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of — throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.
